Default Spikehorn11 gets a Spike

Man I have had the best year. Opening day I took a large doe. I have seen deer just about every time I have gone out. Working midnights I hunt about 5 evenings a week and 2 mornings. I hit the stand early because a deer was already under my stand the morning before. Saw nothing till 8:20 when this spike came my way. He had no plan to stop till I mouth bleated and let the arrow fly. I knew i hit him but looked really high. He ran 20 yards and stood still for 20 mintues before trying to walk and buckleing down on his knees. He bedded for about an hour and then got up. When he got up he didn't even act like he was hurt. He started coming my way up the hill and stopped at quartering slightly but more broadside. I drew and took out both lungs. He bounded 3 times before falling. Turns out the first hit was between the shoulder and the neck. I told every one I was holding out for a buck and I kept my word. My dad nick named me spike at the age of 15 for missing my first spike with a bow. Every year I have some story about one I missed or harvested. To top it off I also trapped my first beaver the same day. I had a blast.
