RE: Illinois non-resident archery question

It doesn't matter where you hunt in IL there are big bucks all over the state and throughout the Midwest. Everyone thinks that the golden triangle is some magic area that grows huge deer. The only reason you hear about so many huge bucks coming from west central IL is because so many more people hunt the area. Think about it. Most of the land over there is leased by outfitters that practice QDM year in and year out. And 9 out of 10 out of state hunters that visit IL to hunt each year visit one of the golden counties. Don't get me wrong! Pike, Adams, Fulton, and all the other west central IL counties make up the whitetial capital of the country. Just don't over look the rest of the state. And often times its much easier and cheaper to find quality hunting land in different areas of the state. I will take the 140 acre farm I hunt on in little ole Scott county any day of the week over the hyped up golden triangle.
