Thats a tough one.. My second buck was about that size. If the hunting pressure is high in your area and you consider it to be a good buck then go for it. Personally though I would not shoot him. Still too small.. let him grow another year or two or even three.. If he survives then he'll be a real big trophy

And i also have plenty of years to hunt for a big rack.
Not if you shoot thesmall ones.

It's a proven fact that if a buck is dead hecan't grow a bigger rack. If you want meat, shoota doe that you probably have too many of anyways. He has good potential from that pic. Nice dark antlers, 8 symetrical points, nice height and spread for how old he is. Take a video camera out and tape him for some cool footage if he happens by.

That's howI look at it too.

I've taken several does, but no bucks.

Not because I haven't seen any, but because if I shoot the small ones, how will they grow into bigger ones? I've passed on quite a few bucks in this size range because I'm holding out for a nicer buck.

If it would be your biggest buck, shoot it. If you would be happy with it take it.

I dono who said it buti dont have that many doe's. lastnight i got 2 bucks on camera and 3 doe's and 2 fawns. Tonight i sat out and seen 2 fawns and a doe and found out that my neighbor is going ot rifle hunt 100 yards from where i am so that might be screwing me up to. I'm going to go over and ask him if i can just hunt over his spot since he knows i never shot much yet.

Ok thanks for your opinions guys. Its private land but my bad neighbor makes a drive threw it every year rifle hunting and then my good neighbor hunts it.
