I am biased toward the aluminums. Yes, they are quieter and easier on the bow.

I agree that the extra weight prevents bow noise, so you just have to decide between a quieter bow or faster speed. I opt to a quiet setup myself.

how light are thous carbons 385fps?

Same here 385 or do you mean 285? I shoot carbons, there's other ways to make your bow quiet. The flatter trajectory with speed is well worth it. I shoot ACC 3-39, 400gr, 284 fps out of my 29" draw Legacy.
