I live in Kentucky right on the Ohio River and have friends that live in Ohio. I hunt there some and have seen some really good deer. It has become a state know for big bucks. Ohio is similar to places like Iowa because their gun seasons are late and are shotgun only. This just adds to the odds of bucks becoming mature and geeting HUGE like we have been seeing lately. Go to this link and check out some of the bucks taken in Ohio; http://www.ohiodnr.com/wildlife/dow/Photos/Gallery.aspx?Gallery=Hunting

He was around 250. Got him at a friends farm in Adams County Illinois on Oct 27. Heres a better pic. He's tiny compared to that buck in Ohio!

Just to clarify. Ohio DNR considers all “vertical” bows longbows. No distinctions made between traditional equipment and compound.

When they say longbow they mean compound, If you looked through the other pictures the compounds were listed as longbows also.

dressed or on the hoof what's the diff, 30-35#.
It is assumed to be a difference of one third of the body wieght between dressed or not, that is the standard here. But, yes it would still be a hugh deer. That is why some would want to know how it was weighed that is all.

Finch 11-12-2006 06:12 AM

RE: Good Lord 342 lbs!!

I would say that 340-350 looks about right.

Just think, I have trouble dragging out deer in the mid 100's.[&:]
