okguys and gals here is the situation ive been hunting for 20 years and this is a first for me im hunting an area of state land that is littered with buck sign everywhere you turn in a 150 to 200 yard radius i have at least 25 scrapes new ones made nightly and about the same amount of rubs the problem is is that ive hunted here for 8 days straight and seen squat nada nothing but a fox and a coyote and 2 little ones after shooting hours this is a first for me and i know that there is a monster buck in here at least 140s i havent even seen a doe which to me is very odd i only have about 5 days left before gun season starts should i abandone it all together or what please help if you can matt

Put up a trail cam in the area to see what time all of the action is going on. Or Maybe another hunter is making the scrapes to throw you off. So he will have his area to himself. Just a thought.

Could it be that you're hunting an area that he frequents when he's not crazy chasin' the ladies? I have an area that is very similar to what you describe. I have yet to take a deer there. It drives me crazy because I know those bucks are there.....just not when I'm able to be there I guess.
Good luck!
