A bud of mine from PA showed me these pics. Looks like someone took a quartering to shot, got a through-and-through, looks like at least one lung would have gotten tatered. BUT, he's healed and looks like he is doing well. I am floored by these photos...

Wow, I don't know if that would be good or bad. He's lucky to have survived, but unlucky do to the pain he would have been in.

It is hard to beleave how deer survie shots like that , but when looking at the photos you can see that the shot was a little high.
I don't think it hit the lungs at all but just above them although I've heard that they can survie on only one lung , I don't really beleave that one but it might be possiable.

Unbelieable...Deer can be almost bionic at times....Looks like a fairly level shot w/ almost no downward angle...I would maybe agree that it passed just high of the lungs....

Looks like if the deer was shot then it would have had to be shot from ground level. because the wounds are at the same height on the body. It couldnt have been from a tree stand. or the exit would would have been way lower.

Could be a healed wound or could just be coincidental scars from something else, fighting maybe?
I have seen a passthru shot in the neck of a buck that healed over. Anything is possible with them critters.

It really looks like a wound from an arrow but there's no way to know for sure that it is. IF it is then WOW, it'd almost be a shame for him to be killed after surviving all of that.

do you guys think he will still grow a good rack next year, or will his rack always stay small now that he has been shot.
