Shoulder Mounts! $$$$$
#11
I have a friend whose father does taxidermy as a hobby and get $375 for a shoulder mount. I just saw a post somewhere about a company that'll do a professional euro mount for $95, does anybody know any prices for those around your area? bhensely, im sure the guys on the taxidermy forum could answer all your questions about preparing your game for mounting if you dont get sufficient replies here.

Paid $350 for a basic shoulder mount here in Michigan last year. But I have paid upwards of $500 to have special mounts, like a buck sneaking out of the cattails or a turning branch lick. They add a little character to the room and get away from the same ole same ole. Course, if I hadhuge Boone and Crockett's hanging all over my wall, I wouldn't worry about "character"...hahah.

The best taxidermist in our area who is also in partnership with our shop is charging $495 for a whitetail shoulder mount. He does awesome work though. Maybe someday if I can get this monkey off my back I will have something to bring him...........

Here in MD it's a bit more money... But haveyou ever thought about how much time and effort goes into a Shoulder Mount. What is you time worth? My cousin is a taxidermist and people are always coming into his shop and trying to beat him up over the price. Think about how much time is spent fleshing out the mount, the price of the chemicals, the molds... Hey his family has to eat too. Just seems like everybody wants somethin' for nothin'

The range here in the NW 'burbs of Chicago seems to be in the $425-$500 range depending on who you use.
I'm getting ready to fork over $450 to the guy who does all my mounts.
