RE: lumenoks are illegal in kansas
Show off! :@
ORIGINAL: Full_Throttle The only problem I have is that I am too good a shot;). I wanted to make sure They didn't affect my arrow flight, so I always practiced with them. Guess what....The don't work after they have been robin-hooded!!!![:@][:@][:@] Lesson learned; Aim at different spots on the target, NOT where you already have arrows. I have already ruined 3 arrows this year. The Luminok robin hood was at a tourniment...it was kinda kool to watch the light go out and having everyone realize what had just happened..... |
RE: lumenoks are illegal in kansas
From the Lumenok site. www.lumenok.net
Lumenoks built beginning in 2003 weighed about 31 grains total. Depending what type of nock you are replacing they will add between 15 and 22 grains to the weight of your arrow. New for 2006 Lumenoks will weigh a total of about 28 grains. The weight that is added to your arrow is between 12 and 18 grains, depending what nock you currently shoot. The total weight of the components that we add is 15 grains. But that's just mechanics and most people won'thave their arrows set upwhere an extra 15 grains on the wrong endwill hurt too bad, I guess. That's not where the stupidity comes into play anyhow.Where the stupidity comes in is paying$10 apiece for arrow nocks![:-] Just my opinion, of course. I'll stick with the nocks that cost about 10 bucks for a bag of 50. [8D] |
RE: lumenoks are illegal in kansas
I've lost deer before b/c I wasn't able to see the impact of the arrow nor find my arrow after the hit. At least with a lighted nock I have a better chance of visualizing the flight and/or a hit - or miss. I figure I spend enough on hunting licenses, arrows, bows, broadheads, treestands, boots, clothing, time, gas, etc. so at this point whats $25 MORE?

RE: lumenoks are illegal in kansas
You're just too old fashioned Arthur!;) Well, by building your own you can save about $6.50/ea if ya got a tube of super glue laying around:) Of course, I'veturned around andspent those thousands I've saved on store bought bows.[&:] Really, I have no problem with these things as a neat gadget. They are that, for sure. Probably really neat if you've done a little LSD. [8D] I just don't buy the argument that they'll keep you from losing a deer. Theeye can fool you.You can thinkthe arrow hit 'right there' only to find out when you start field dressing that the arrow actually hit 'over here.' It's nice to find the arrow, especially if you're cheap like me;),to be able to see what kind of stuffthe deer left on it. But it's not absolutely necessary. You've still got to read the signs in the blood and follow the trail to the deer. Adeer is lost because either the hunter's trailing skills aren't as good as they need to be; the hunter gave up on the trail too soon; thewound closed up, the blood trail stopped and the hunterwas unable to follow it's tracks; the arrow hit a non-fatal area; just plain bad luck. An animalis never lost simply because the nocks didn't light up. |
