Default My first deer!

After 3 years of bow hunting and about 8 with shot gun, I finally harvested my first deer! We got to our stands at 11:00 and yes i hunted in the same stand I asked about earlier. I sat for about 5 hours before 3 deer took off on the hill about 250 yards away. Then a doe took off running like a freak in 2 huge circles and then ran off, a few minutes later I saw a deer coming from in back of me, she walked right toward me, then stopped right where i could shoot her........as I drew back I saw another deer just up the hill, with me in plain sight! I held it till they both were looking away and slowly let off.( man that is hard)the closest doe stood and looked around as the other started walking right into another shooting lane. Then the one in back just freaked out and ran away. The other doe just turned around and started eating again. She was facing me which really sucked, it was about 5 minutes I had to hold my bow up in front of me without moving a muscle! and after a while she SLOWLY turned and quartered away, but when I got halfway through my draw she looked right at me!! I held it and very slowly pulled back the whole way. I only had a second but I thought it through completely. And as she stepped forward I let her have it!!! Double lung at 15 yards! FINALLY

Way to go mnhotbabe, welcome to the brother / sister hood. Sounds like a heck of a time, and I'm glad that stand finally paid off for you.

Be safe and good hunting

God Bless
