I'm shooting a Mathews FX 28" with the minimax so it bottoms out around 65lbs or so. Around 60 lbs of KE. Goldtip 7595's 100 grain Naildriver around 264Ft/sec. 4 point maybe 170-180lbs on the hoof, came into the scrape looked up at me and then put his nose in the scrape. Distance 12 yards I'm up maybe 15-16 feet, in the understory. He jumped the string. Initially I thought I only had 10 inches of penetration as that was how I found him, but I just got done processing the deer and I got a lot more penetration than I figured. He must of spun when he jumped the string, I hit him high catching the ribs high, the very back of the near lung, liver and all the way through the opposite ham, more like 21 inches of penetration. There was no blood for maybe 25-30 yards then a decent blood trail, which seemed to stop but in retrospect I just turned the wrong way. He didn't make it 100 yards, the liver was demolished, the ham was messed up, that little head did a lot of damage. One of the blades was slightly bent the ferrule looks brand new. I might go to the steelhead125 next year but I don't want to retune my bow now. I think that for a marginal hit like that the naildriver performed well. I have a lot of confidence in that head out of my setup. FWIW anyway.
