Default shooting while hunting

I just got into bow hunting, ive been doing target practice quite a lot lately. I was planning on using my shotgun stand for bow as well. The area I hunt is about 20 yards from where 2 streams merge into one. The streams over many years have cut some great small valleys, gullys, and very sharp dropoffs. the stand is actually just a platfrom that is set up against a tree with camo that comes up about chest high. Its on a downhill and if you measured straight up its about 15 feet above the stream. The area is very active, although its hell getting the deer out of the area. Now since I have never gone bowhunting before I dont know what kind of stance I should try for this area. I was wondering if I should set up a swivle bucket to sit on so id have a clear shot, but this would expose me a little more. Ive never had trouble with my shotgun cause hell, any idiot can sit there and shoot a gun. A buddy of mine has actually shot through the top of the camo and got a perfect hit. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on my shooting stance for my setup.

Many people are successful from the gound, but with bowhunting getting up high will usually produce better results. I would not advise using those bucket swivel seats, as they sound like a freight train in the woods.

The only problem with hunting from a tree stand is that when the deer come off the hills towards the stream your eye level with the deer. A friend tried hunting from a tree stand in the area and had poor results.

It doesn't matter if your on the ground or in a tree. if you don't hunt downwind from the deer they're going smell you i know some will argue that being very high in a tree the deer will not smell you, I have been winded by deer when i was about 27 feet high. It is all about the wind!!!

Its hard to give advice without ever seeing the area but If your siting still and can see the deer a ways out then you should be fine. Just dont move and wait for them to get in close and below you.
