Default Same Buck?

I posted this in the Trailcam forum but didn't get the feedback I was hoping for, so I'll post it here as well.

I'm not sure what to think here. The top photo was taken in 2004 when I saw this buck a few times and never got close to him. We have photos from 2002 when he was a 2 1/2 year old buck so I'm assuming he's 4 1/2 in these photos. Nice healthy deer, not super wide, decent mass and tine lenght. I'm figuring in the 140's as a 10 pointer.

Last year I never confirmed that I saw him. My dad and I both saw a big ten pointer with a bunch of stickers that we assumed was him but never got a great look nor did we get any photos or find his sheds.

This past week I got a photo of a buck that looks identital to "Mr. Buck", as we have so dubbed him, but I'm not sure if it's him or not. I have a hard time believing this buck is 6 1/2 in this photo, but his rack is a spitting image of the 2004 buck. Dual crabclaws, doesn't look to be too overly wide, and the start of some kickers off both G-2's. Either this is the same buck, or one of his offspring. The only thing I can say that makes me think it's one of his offspring is that his crabclaws are definitely shorter now than they were then, unless its just the camera angle.

What do you guys think? Photos were taken less than 100 yards from each other.

The 06 buck looks younger to me. I'm going to say it is the son of the 04. The rack looks identical, just smaller.

No way is the '06 buck 6.5 years old. He's more than likelyan offspring.

I completely agree. And the 04 buck looks bigger than the 06 anyways. But what I wanted to point out is that the 04 buck is def. older than the 06 buck. Look at the differences. The neck on the 06 has no dip on the bottom end indicating a younger deer, his neck also flows straight to the bottom of his chest, and his upper body is much larger than his hind end, all indicating an older deer. Looks to me like the 06 is def. an offspring.

there is just about no doubt in my mind that the '06 picture is a different deer than the '04 buck--like the other guys said, prolly an offspring for sure!

Here's another photo of the 04 buck where you can see his crabclaw better. Just to get a better idea of his rack from a different angle.

I think I'm with you guys on this one. Most like an offspring of the big guy.

Either way, I have a feeling I'll be sending an arrow his way if I get a chance.
