Default Deer Movement

For the last few weeks all I have seen from my trail cam the deer on my place are only seeming to move between midnight and about 5 to 6am. Should I expect them to move during the day during the upcoming rut or is the place I am hunting, not going to be all that great this year?

How pressured is your hunting area?? I know alot of people tend to think that during peak rut, any buck will get up and run around chasing hot does all day long. In a highly pressured area, some old deer won't act this way regardless if they are in rut or not. For instance, the current deer herd living in the city of Morgantown that we aren't allowed to hunt. Even during full swing rut, I never see bucks chasing does down High Street during the daytime. But drive around town around 2am, and they're chasing through people's yards. Just really depends on where you are hunting at I guess.

I wouldn't get too worked up about it yet. It is still so early. The deer are just in their normal feeding patterns. If in two weeks things haven't changed, then I would start to worry.
