RE: Albino?
I've seen several of them in S.E Illinois. It is illegal to kill white deer there and in places, there are a ton of them. I actually saw 4 in one field at the same time. Three does and a huge typical 6X4 with a seven inch drop tine. The next afternoon, there was yet another albino buck in the same field. This deer was a typical 6X7 that would easily make it in the 170's. I'm from Alabama and had never seen one until that hunt. Didn't get a deer, but just seeing the albinos, especially ones that big, definitely made the trip worth while.

I used to see them on APG as well - including the big one most bowhunters were after.
On the private land I hunt, they're pretty rare and they get killed quickley it seems -- I guess because they stand out so well. I was fortunate enough a few years ago to harvest a piebald buck. He wasn't all that big either, but he was over 95% white. Even his hooves were pink.

there are a bunch of them around here in Horseheads NY but there white deer not albino. And up at the Seneca army depot they raise them in a controlled fenced in environment. here is a link to it http://www.senecawhitedeer.org/index.htmThey have controlled hunts for them also so they don't get over populated.

I also used to see several at APG when I was stationed there. Mostly around the Edgewood Arsenal area. There was a huge 12 point that used to hang around the officer's club. But never saw one while hunting.
