When I was stationed at APG, MD I used to see Pybol (SP) deer all the time. Saw a nice buck that way too.

I've seen several of them in S.E Illinois. It is illegal to kill white deer there and in places, there are a ton of them. I actually saw 4 in one field at the same time. Three does and a huge typical 6X4 with a seven inch drop tine. The next afternoon, there was yet another albino buck in the same field. This deer was a typical 6X7 that would easily make it in the 170's. I'm from Alabama and had never seen one until that hunt. Didn't get a deer, but just seeing the albinos, especially ones that big, definitely made the trip worth while.

I used to see them on APG as well - including the big one most bowhunters were after.

On the private land I hunt, they're pretty rare and they get killed quickley it seems -- I guess because they stand out so well. I was fortunate enough a few years ago to harvest a piebald buck. He wasn't all that big either, but he was over 95% white. Even his hooves were pink.

there are a bunch of them around here in Horseheads NY but there white deer not albino. And up at the Seneca army depot they raise them in a controlled fenced in environment. here is a link to it http://www.senecawhitedeer.org/index.htmThey have controlled hunts for them also so they don't get over populated.

I also used to see several at APG when I was stationed there. Mostly around the Edgewood Arsenal area. There was a huge 12 point that used to hang around the officer's club. But never saw one while hunting.

Had seen a doe that had 2 albino fawns 2 years ago, Last 1 was a four pointer and the other was a doe. The four pointer was shot last year and the doe has not been seen again.

Ive seen two around here several years ago, but they never seem to last past their first year, people have them killed as soon as season opens, if they make it that long.

Only one I have seen is the one that is a "pet" on I-69 in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. It has one huge rack on it... but I've never seen a wild one in this area.

I've seen them while spotlighting, not while hunting though.

I have seen and hunted a piebald doe.

Never seen a piebald or albino, but as you can tell from my name on here, I love those color phases. It's my dream to bag one someday.

I am glad you said that cause I have been wandering about it for a while now. A true albino has pinkish hoofs right, and pink eyes and so on and so on if I am right. Then any thing with alot of white hair but does not have that stuff I mentioned is just a piebald with alot of white hair correct?

Yep, not albino. I had several of these for a couple years, including a scraggly horn 6pt . I will not kill these. They disappeared, probably gun hunters took them out. I had fun chasing them around with a camera.

I've never seen one in the wild, but we used to have a small zoo in our park when I was younger, and they had a huge albino buck! It was like a 16 pointer when some dumb arse decides he's gonna steal it, and get it mounted or something! A .22 between the eyes in the middle of town! The cops came as they were dragging it away. They got away, but didn't get the deer!!! Some people!!!

Big John, awesome pics....very cool to have them around.

I would have shot the piebald doe I was hunting. I was passing nice bucks hoping to get her. I saw her 5 times that season then never again. Like you said, rifle hunters took her out I'd imagine. She was a 1.5 year old doe. She appeared like a ghost. I could never figure that out with all the white she had, all of a sudden she'd be standing at 50 or 60 yards out of nowhere.

Hotburn7, correct an all white deer with black hooves, nose, eyes is actually a piebald or simply an all white deer but not albino.
