So I couldn't sleep last night in excitement over this spot I was going to hunt this morning and I stayed up all night. I cleared this area earlier this year and this morning wa the first time I was gonna hunt it. Finally I roll out the door to head to my spot, about 150 yard walk, at 5 this morning. I climbed up in my tree and was settled in way before day break. Just when the day started to break, still not enough shooting light, my stomach started rumbling. I ignored it.All I could think about was losing all this sleep over this spot and never hunting it before to know whats moving and it kept getting worse. Finally after several minutes of trying to fight it I lower my bow down. Miraculously it stopped soon as my bow hit the ground. So of course I hoist it back up. About 5 minutes later it hit again and I couldn't help but climb down. I started to take my stand off the tree and I couldn't go any further. It was coming so I had to do my business. When I say it was coming, I mean I barely got my belt undone. I was prayin and askin for forgiveness for things I've never even done. The deer were even prayin it would stop. Basiclaly I screwed up a hunting spot this morning for the rest of the season over it. You guys have any secrets or tips on what you so when your 15 ft in the tree and this happens? I mean obviously you can't use a piss bottle or even and empty pop bottle. What do you do?

I alway's make myself go before I leave ,I usually have 1 coffee on my trip to the location I'm gonna hunt and it doesn't bother me until I'm at home after the hunt . Don't drinkl too much coffee ,that's the only tip i can give you other than forcing yourself to go before you leave .

Your story's real funny ,even the deer were prayin it would stop .LMAO

LMAO! I did the same thing last year and abandoned that sight for the rest of the year. I thought I might not make it.

An old girlfriend from a long time a go, told me her grandfather always carried a handkerchief. You never know when you have to do #2 and in a pinch it can be torn in strips.

I'd hunt the area. Those flies do quick work. If not, someones dog will find it and roll around in it and take it home soon enough.

I have a buddy who never plans for, but always seems to have this same problem. I can't tell you how many times he's come back to the truck after the hunt with only one sock!!! He says he gets down on the ground, digs a little hole, and burries it when he's done.I've known him to kill deer the same evening in the same area.

Eat dinner early in the evening, get plenty of sleep, and eat plenty of fiber and protein. Kashi cereal makes a great late night snack if you must.

Avoid fatty or acidic foods and alcohol the night before you hunt.

Drink a good strong cup of coffee as soon as you get up and take the time to have a seat on the throne.

That's been my recipe for taming my lazy irritable bowel!

But when ya gotta go.... ya gotta go!

Bring spare socks!

When the urge overtakes me in stand, I'll get down and walk 100 yards and do mybusiness. I always have tp in my pack. As far as deer being spooked by the putrid odor, no way. I've killed many deer within an hour of dropping trow. My second largest deer died 25 yards from a fresh kenman dookie.

Lately I've been keeping a few of my daughters diaper wipes in a zip lock. Don't leave home without them. If I don't use them as intended I still have them to wash up with after gutting.

My dad has left the woods more then a fewtime wearing half of a t shirt or one legged long under wear. Every time we go hunting I always ask him if he has to go before we leave and every time he tell me to shut up he's fine. Not funny when you have been in the stand for an hour and it is just getting prime time and you hear the horn on the truck going. Unfortunalty with being 20 feet closer to god I am sure he can hear the profanity that comes out of my mouth.

Those socks work great don't they?? Its like having a TP glove.

Funny story, but I would give up on a good spot because of one pile-O-poo.

My first year gun hunting, I dropped my pants while in the stand 20 feet off the ground, squatted and leaned over as far as I could...and let it fly. (This is another advantage of a safety harness).

Tore off my undies for wipe, tried to drop them on the new dirt pile to cover it up(missed of course), pulled up my longiesand sat back down.

Within 1 hour, I downed a small 10-pointer (actually half a 10-pointer - one side was broken off during velvet). Two other bucks were with this guy and after I shot, one ran directly under my stand - I can't remember if the pile was still steaming, but it had to be close.

I'll never forget that day.

Ever since then, I bring TP with me everywhere I go.

I'll say this. Every Opening day of bowseason and every opening day of turkey season. I get sick to my stomach. I know its going to happen. There is no avoiding it. So I get up extra early and get it over with. Im not talking this has happened once or twice. It has happened every time since I was 14.

I had the same thing happen one time right at daybreak. I left the area thinking it was ruined. Came back early afternoon to get my stand out and jumped a group of deer that had bedded within 20 yards of my pile. Apparently they didn't mind it. I try my hardest not to, but if you have to don't worry about your stand being ruined forever.

Its not that big of deal. Think about it. Every animal sh*ts in the woods. If its a good spot throw some leaves and dirt over it and get back out there and hunt. I killed a nice 11 point last sunday about an hour after I pissed off the side of my treestand. Pee is Pee and Poop is Poop no matter what animal it comes from. :);)
