Hey guys here is video of a little 8 point that walked by my tree Saturday night. When I first saw him directly behind my tree he was about 3 feet. You can actually see the bottom half of my pack in the video, it had my tree steps in it. He never had any idea what was going on. I know he's not a shooter but Ithink it's cool being that close regardless. Sorry about the quality, footage is from my digital camera.

Very nice. So how high up are you? Just curious if you are 35 feet up or if the camera just doesn't have a closer zoom. I'm always playing around with videoing so just wondering.

Cool video! yeah id like to know how high up u r too. i hate how the deer always look soo far away in the videos. makes it look better though when u catch ur hunt on film

I was just a little over 20'. My camera (Canon A510) only has two zoom setting for video, and once you start recording you can't zoom in. Since I was kind of in a hurry I didn't have time to go back zoom in some more. I'm hoping to buy a video camera that is designed for outdoor stuff, possibly around christmas.

Makes sense. My digital camera has a video mode that has very limited zoom as well. I actually have a Sony HandyCam that I carry with me that has a 10x zoom that gets me out there. Check out my post called Backyard Bucks, you'll see some recent stills and get an idea of what you can get. This camera is 6 years old so the newer ones are a lot better in the zoom and the still quality.

pops, do you like the handycam? I've been looking at a couple of Sony video cameras.

Very cool. I use a Sony Handicam digital Hi8, it has a very powerful zoom, You'd been able to count his eyelashes..lol
