Experience is the key to performing, but I'll tell you, the day I DON'T get excited when I hear those steps in the leaves or see that dark figure moving through the woods, I'll quit hunting.

I just usually pull the arrow off of the bow and impaile myself on it. It does about as much as good as anything. I have had times when i thought I would just smooth pass slap out up in the tree. But by the grace of God, I every once in a while get it together, and lay the whackmaster down on them.

The guys pretty much nailed it. Experience! I did however go to state parks and got use to seeing deer, ALOT of deer. Seemed to help a bit. I have realized that if its quick I dont get worked up as much. But the longer it takes for the deer to work into range the more excited my body gets. Its a great feeling but tough when you are rattled. Man, I love this sport!
