Eh, fooey! I could have said Downy since I knew the hole was too small for a Pileated... I call "fowl"... Get it, talking about birds... fowl... foul... uh, never mind.

Man I went to bed and couldn't sleep wandering what made that hole.
Then I wake up a winner this morning. I will be watching my mailbox for the GRAND PRIZE!!! Hope it is something bowhunting related. Like that Antelope Hunt you went on all expenses paid.HAHAHA!!!

I watched that littleSOB out there crawling around, pecking a little here and there and thought..."Well that's pretty neat, a woodpecker keeps landing on my 3D target" (I'm a slow learner
)Big John,
Actually I just had some Rogies 2 days ago........smothered in butter and onions then pan fried. With a side of Antelope steak. Whoa nelly.[:-]
The moral of the story and what I want to know is, at what point does a woodpecker decide a deer has stood around long enough that he's going to try and make a home in it's neck?

I had to go back thru and search for this post to find the answer. I have tons of downy's that come to my feeders and stuff. I'm glad you helped me solve my mystery too.
