I made my second trip to the Maryland woods for the year yesterday. I had 4 does and fawns come through around 7:15. A half hour later the woods errupted in chaos. For 30 minutes I watched 5 bucks chase this one doe out of sight only to run her back through a few seconds later. They'd stop and spar, watche the biggest kill a 3 inch tree. More chasing, back and forth. BLew the grunt tube a dozen times and not one of them paid attention to it. I had an hour period where there was always a deer in sight. The only ones that offered a decent shot were a half dozen does and a little 5 point. I got up this morning to go to the same spot. Found out there'd be someone else there so wasn't sure which tree to get in. Half way to the woods I realized I left my hat, gloves and mask at home. I went back and went to bed. The guy that sat in the same area this morning so NOTHING. Feast of famon I guess.

David, don't you get tired of being right?
Yes, and I think the entire rut can be feast or famon. One minute there's every deer in the woods running around your stand and the next 4 hours there's nothing to be seen![:@]It is an exciting time to be in the woods though!
