What kind of work do you folks do?
There is certainly alot of resources on here as far as getting advice. I was just wondering if you could share what type of work you folks do.
I can go first...I'm a 3rd grade teacher and specilize in teaching slow children and in reading. I love all the extra time off. My principal is also a bow hunter and understands me asking for days off.;)Also..many years of working with defiant children. I'm on year 17. My wife also teaches at the same school. C7 |

Warehouse Inventory Control ......Forktruck operator. Part time gig in an archery pro shop, and until about a year ago...Firefighter/EMT.

I work for a landscaping company installing and maintaining sprinkler systems.
I do both residential and large scale commercial jobs. |

surgical technologist at a community hospital in Rochester, New York.
been doing it for almost 4 years now. and i love it. only wish i made more $$$, but who doesn't. |

Right now I'm a stay at home, 7month pregnant, mommy and wife. Previously I have been in employment sales (sounds odd, hard to explain), media sales, realtor, executive admin. asst/tray lidding film sales, assistant sales training manager, most recently assistant property management/manufactured housing sales... see a trend here? LOL I have done sales since I was 18.
I'm 26 years old and am tired of working for the man, as is my husband, so we are in the process of opening our own seamless guttering business. We have begun to buy the necessary things, currently are on the lookout for our machine, made a couple of calls on 'em today, hopefully will have a machine by the end of the year so our business will be up and running by early spring. His best friend will be partnering with us, they will be doing the installation and I will be doing the business admin., accounting, and you guessed, sales for the business. |

I was an autoworker at a G.M. plant until this last Sept. now I'm a retired U.A.W member.

Well i just work on a farm. LOL i do what ever im told and work when ever im told to. dont make much money but i do get a few huntin spots out of it. so it half way evens out. sometimes i think it doesnt since my boss is well you know.

Telephone Technician for major Company throughout the US going on 17 years now.

I'm a career firefighter/ EMT. Actually I drive a fire engine for a living...and I couldn't imagine being any happier. I've got 20 days each month to hunt/fish/golf/coach baseball/etc.
I've been in the Air Force, packed sheetrock, worked for the Postal Service, Lowe's, and many, many years ago I flipped burgers at McDonald's. |

I am a tool & die maker for a company that makes parts for Caterpillar. We make the big heavy parts that other people don't want to fool with.

Architect, and no, I don't do residential work (except the remodel of my way too big 1909 house)! Just commercial stuff.

Fulltime student/hunter. Not making any money though, it's tough living off a summer job's pay.:D

I have my own finish & trim carpentry company. I've been doing it a few years now; I was a bricklayer for 8 years before that. A nasty fall and consequential back surgery prompted me getting into trimming.

Thanks for sharing folks. The only one I'm jealous over is the farm worker. At this point in my life I would love to live in the country near a nice , kind farmer who had too many deer on his property. ;)We plan to retire and move to the country in 9 years. We live pretty cheap so we can one day have our own spread. I do drive to one member's place on here which is 1060 miles away. There is nothing like the sound of songbirds chirping and the miles of rolling country to hunt. I save up every year for this event. While some go on cruises..I prefer a week in the Ozarks sitting in an oak tree.

I retired 2 1/2 years ago after a 30 year career at http://www.lcra.org/energy/ferguson.htmlwhere I was a shift supervisor.
Now I work for the most important person in my world and she also serves as my Activity Director. |

Electronics Technician that designs, orders , and installs equipment to build E911 dispatch centers for themilitary all over the world. In a days time I could work on computer software and core holes in concrete. It is a really fun non-routine job. Cool thing is that when I am not on the road I work from home and get to hunt, well around the kid's school schedule.

I'm a closer. I'm in the high tech telecom field and love to get down in the technical weeds. Rule #1, you can't spell Geek without a double "E" Electrical Engineer for you non-Maryland Grads.;)

I am a contractor for the United States Army Reserves. When I'm not working on thier computersI am surfing huntingnet.com. Gotta love those government jobs.

Retired in 1982 from U.S.P.S., bought a 100 acres in 83 and now ythe only work I do is windows,dishes, floors plus any other HONEYDO to build points so I can grab my dog, jump in my Dakota and head for the cabin. Life is hell.

I own a hunting and fishing resort in Canada. Work my arse off in the summer to get the whole fall off (Oct.1 - Dec.31)and hunt as much as I want. And yes I am married and the wife understands and supports my fall addiction.

I climb trees (arborist) for a living. When the weather is bad, which is often, I don't work, which means I hunt often!:DI'll never be rich but I'll hunt alot. I love it!!;)

I hunt for a living. Shoot a couple 170" + deer a year, My wife Tiffany hunts with me all the time. we have a tv show together, Up Close...Yea, ok, I'm dreaming. Does Lee Lakosky have the life or what???
Seriously...I'm an IT Project Manager, former software developer. I've got the job I wanted since high school. Can't complain I guess...Oh wait I could, a lot, but i'm not going to:eek: |
