If you're still hunting then the best scent is no scent. Spray a little cover scent if you feel the need, but I don't think you need any attractants.

That's really too broad a question , it depends on where you are , what time of year it is , what sex of deer you're after , what's available as forage right now ...

I use food scented lures right now because the rut isn't on yet . Food attracts does and bucks follow does , I use apple and persimmon mostly and sometimes dilute vanilla to simulate the smell of white oak acorns . Curiosity lures like Trail's End 307 on a scent pad or plain deer urine on a drag rag can be productive . Buck urine as an intrusion scent , especially when mixed with tarsal in a mock scrape or a dripper .

If a deer smells something good, they're going to come and be LOOKING for it and on more of an alert than normal. If you're still hunting, you want the animals as oblivious to your presence as possible.

No scent is always the best scent.

Try some Deer Dander , spray it on your boots and pants that way when you walk thru the woods you'll leave a trail for them to follow.
Then find a good hiding spot and wait to see what comes around.

I've tried different things and the best I've found is to smell like nothing.

Since you posted in the bow hunting forum I assume your bow hunting. If so your already decreased your odds tremendously by stalking. Not saying it cant be done but it not easy. I would rather hunt a food source or near a bedding area from a tree or even a ground blind over stalking

I too am a believer in no scent. Keep clean and keep down wind. Good luck.

IMO scent free is the best way to go, BUT I am considering trying some of the deer dander.
