My first turkey!!!!
after hunting two spring turkey season i finally conect with a turkey with a bow last saturday. This turkey and two other walked into the cut bean field a little after eight and i never thought that they would come in, but finally a little before 9 they started my way. after what seemed like forever they finally came in range but they never came infront of me were my main shootin lane is. but there was a opening in the tree branches were one finally walked into.then one of them either seen me or something it didn't liked and ran back the way it came and was cluckin. but the other two stayed. i slowly drew back my bow hoping they would see, me then i came to full draw, set the pin on the turkey and loosed the arrow, then hearing it and seeing it connect with the turkey the turkey jumped in the air. and landed a few feet away were it finally died, i waited another 30 min. before the other two turkeys to leave, then i got down to retreive my trophie. didn't have any shooter deer in range this weekend but still had a great weekend.
Good Luck

RE: My first turkey!!!!
Where did you hit the turkey? What kind of broadhead or tip were you using? Did the turkey attempt to get airborne? Where you on the ground or in a stand? Did you use any calls?

Awesome, Congrats on the bird. I almost had a shot at one opening day, but just out of range.
Question: In the fall in Ill, you can arrow any turkey right? Does'nt have to be a gobbler?
