It's time for new arrows . I have been shooting expedition hunters by Gold Tip - 5575 . I'm looking at the "Black Mamba" . It sounds like a really durable arrow . Have you got any experiance with these ? Or somthing else that will fit my bill .I'd rather have durability than somthing that will hit a quarter at 100 yds - I can't shoot that well anyway .Thanks .

I used to shoot goldtip xt hunters and i switched this year to carbon express maximas. Best desicion i think ive made. They are really durable. They have cross weaved carbon to add strength. Not only that they really made my groups tighter. Check em out and see what you think. I dont really know anything about the black mambas.

I also went to Carbon Express Maxima's and it made a big difference for me as well. I love these arrows, just don't do this too much it will get kind of expensive.

I can't speak for the arrows that i haven't shot, but the axis are more durable than the GT's and Carbon Express arrows that I've ever shot. I've put axis arrows through the ringer and they are still in my quiver.

I'm now shooting the Carbon Express Maximas as well. Good quality arrow IMO. But more expensive than the Beman ICS and Gold Tip XT arrows that I previously used. I paid $115 for a dozen fletched arrows. I think the Beman and Gold Tip arrows were around $70.

I bought a dozen Redhead Carbon Fury's for $45.00, fletched and ready to shoot. In my opinion, I can't tell any difference in these and the goldtips I had before, other than the pricetag. I shot a 94# doe Saturday evening with one of the redhead arrows and had a complete passthru. The arrow is still completely intact and ready to be used again. I'll buy these arrows again next time I need some.

I've been reading weakness in the HIT technology meaning the ends are splitting on any angled hits on harder surfaces via a passthrough into the ground. I wonder if it's because of the thin wall and no insert for strength on that end?
