Default Holding short Bow Steady...

This is my first year shooting a short bow. Shooting a SB.

I just can't seem to hold it steady > 40 yards. (it's not being held any steadier < 40, its just the human error doesn't show up until over 40)

I could hold my old long bow (pse mach 8) steady as a rock.

Having a hard time holding this bow extremely steady. Whats your take?

I shoot almost every day and have shot bows since 12 years old (now 27). Bow is set on a very very conservative draw weight. I could draw it in my sleep! So its not the weight. When I knew Iwas on the bullseye when I touched the trigger, it hits bullseye.

Notice my misses on both 30 and 40 yards are low left... Coicedence?

Top 30 yards, bottom 40 yards.

If your missing left and right, it might be because you are canting the bow one side or the other. And the bow being short axle to axle doesn't help you any because small movements will be amplified.

i dont know but those are still pretty darn good groups for that range, any one of those shots would kill a deer

Yeah Cougar, if the only state I hunted was good ole South Carolina. I'd be happy as Jimmy Houston in a high fence.

Heck the longest shot I've ever had to take on a deer was 32 yards. But where I am heading in 3.5 weeks... I won't feel good If I'm not touching that black circle everytime at 40 and at least softball size at 50. I think I can do it.

I might go to work half out of it from time to time, but I don't go half ass 12 hours north!!!

a few questions. is your bow perfectly balanced? do you have a level on your sight? and try to shoot at a smaller dot once, and see how your groups are.

Yes, I never pay attention to the level though. I'll keep an eye on that.

How do I check to see if its balanced.

Thats the kind of info I am looking for.

It feels like I am shooting a bull barrel rifle freehand or an extremely light rifle freehand. Does that make sense?

The only time I panic is when I'm riding shotgun with my wife behind the wheel!

Do you think your problem might be that your shooting a lighter bow? You may want to try and add some weight to your rig.
