Default New property and camp, needs a name.....

As some of you may have read, I recently came across an outstanding deal on the 26 acres of property directly acrossed the road from my fathers house and was able to purchase and add this to the belt of family property that we already had in Bradford County, PA. We now have approx 130 acres between my Great Aunt, Grandparents, my Father, and now me. The new property is all ridge top meadow with views of 10+ miles down and across the valley. It is absolutely beautiful and I have hopes to be able to build a house there in the next 5 years and move back to PA if/when I can find stable employment making decent $$$.

I already ordered andI plan to plant next summer5000 christmas tree seedlingson the property and hopes are that 6-8 years from now the money made from this will be able to pay the mortgage way down on the house that will hopefully be on the property by then. The bottom strip of the field will of course be another big food plot though to keep the deer off my tree seedlings......

In addition to the property, Icame across a smoking deal last week on a 10'x16' amish built storage building that is only 6 months old. I bought it and had it delivered this last weekend to the property and I plan to do quite a bit of work on this and turn it into my own personal hunting cabin. I hope to have all of this work done this winter. It will be my personal get away and camping/vacation spot in the summer, and hunting cabin in the fall/winter. Building plans for this are to run full electric inside, frame and install full size windows on the front (which will face south), move the current small windows to the ends up high where the ventilation currently is, frame in and install a pre hung door and screen door in place of the door on the right that is currently there, insulate, finish interior with natural pine tongue and groove paneling, install the wood stove I bought, build a covered porch and roof on the front, furnish with log style furniture, and then a big fire ring outside to sit around and drink beer next to in the summers.I also want to repaint it probably an olive drab type color w/ tan trim as I hate the current colors. I definitely have my work cut out for me but the project should be fun and the times spent there after its done with friends, family, and my GF should be great. It is very small but it is all mine and it feels really really good to own my own patch. [8D]

What do you guys think I should name the camp? Any thoughts are appreciated on this.

Pics are below.

The best names for a camp are in order:

1. Something Historical to the property (Indian Springs after an old Indian encampment etc.) Don't be afraid to do a little research or asking around. The older the person the better!

2. Something physically prominent about the property (Our camp is Camp Seven Pines for obvious reasons) anything relating to the physical features or topography.

3. Something family related.

4. Made up names suck. Just making up a name with no bigger meaning behind it never sticks.

Dude, I want to go shopping with you! Very nice property and I've been looking for a shed like that to make a little cabin of my own. Congrats on your find.

Just wanted to post a few update pics for those that remember this thread.........

I know it's not much but it is all mine and it helps me remember why I bust my butt every day at work. Insulation and knotty pine tongue and groove paneling will be installed by September or so. It's not much but it is all mine and will be a blast this fall. Next project is a shower/out house and covered front porch which I hope to get done next spring. I first slept in it over memorial day weekend and finally got to have a fire and drink beers next tothe fire pit at night. It felt great. I woke up Saturday morning to see a doe that just dropped a fawn that morning in the field 200 yards from me, and Sunday morning I woke up early to take a leak in the bushes and had a gobbler less than 30 yards from the building.

My grandfather is making a sign for it as well with the name on it.........the sign will be posted next to the front entrance on a 4x4 post that also has a thermometer/weather station on it.

Pics of "Matt's Minnequa Shabin" [8D]:

View out the front door. You can see where I killed my bow gobbler in this pic. My blind was setup right in the end of that strip of trees on the right hand side going into the field.

Rotating view from the fire pit:

Inside the building:

And one more from the outside showing the "Shabin" as my friends and family call it, as well as the fire pit, etc........
