I have given deer to soup kitchens and I have given significant amounts of meat to a local sportsmans club for their annual game dinner.

Well, if I ended up with more meat than we could eat in a year I definitely wouldn't hesitate, just haven't had the opportunity yet. This year we were down to 7 pounds from my button buck last year, thankfully hubby replenished our supply with a fatty 5 pt. yesterday.

I almost got one tonight, but couldn't get a shot off due to the leaves still being on the trees, unique lookin' buck... but I still have plenty of season left.

Sadly there are no local processing plants that participate.

But, I do give to FHFH directly from my paycheck every payday.

I also have family in Kentucky that are on fixed income. I send meat that way every year.
