Default Great News- Doe Recovered!

I found her! I went in this morning at first light and started where I last saw her yesterday evening. To my amazement I found some blood! Not alot but enough to get me started in the direction she traveled. I was on my hands and knees at times following through briars and mile a minute. Then the blood stopped![&o]But the route she was on was leading down hill towards the little creek I mentioned yesterday.
I had to go through some thick stuff to access the creek and there she lay right on the creek embankment! Right on!!! I was soooo happy I recovered her and it only took a little more than an hour. She only really went about 100yrds. The trick was leaving the woods after I saw that arrow with no blood on it and realized I hit her in the gut!
As it turned out my shot hit her center body and angled forward and through one lung, hence the minimal blood lose. I had heard that a gut shot can leave no blood evidence on the arrow even though it hits something major like a lung. When I gutted her there was steam coming from her insides. The meat will be fine!
I want to thank all of you guys for your advice and confident replys reguarding this bad shot. I sure hope it doesn't happen again any time soon. But like a couple guys said, this is hunting and I LOVE it.
Again, thanks for all the support!!!

Please keep us updated on the meat. I'd like to know if it turns out spoiled at all. Thanks.

Any of you other guys ever have to leave a deer overnight like this and was the meat ok?

That is great news early in

I'm gald that you were able to recover the doe and put some meat in your freezer.
You did the right thing by leaving her last night and not to push her , congrats again on the fine recovery.
