So here is a question for all of you

Do you like to walk to your stand in the dark with a flash light or at dawn when you can barely see and not use a flashlight?

I do both depending on the area I am hunting, just looking for a little insight on some of your tactics.

I always want to be in the stand before first light. That being said, that's nearly impossible on a food plot, field where you might blow the deer out before getting in tho.

I know my hunting area so good.......I go in inthe dark (no light). Of course.....if "I" know it that good.......they probably know ME that good, too....lol.

Flashlights have gotten me busted too many times to be of any use , even when using a red lens , so anymore I just wait until it's barely light enough to see without stumbling too much and go on in . Any deer that get scattered by my approach will either come back after awhile or be replaced with deer later on that have no idea that I'm there waiting for them . The exception to that is when I'm hunting public land , then I just use my flashlight or headlamp since I'll be entering the woods a few hours before the suckers...er...fellow hunters who'll be driving the deer toward me get there .

For me it all depends how far I have to go. If its a long way I use the flashlight to start in but I like to get to my stand when light is just breaking its still too early to shoot but youcan manuver a little. I can be on most of my stands within 5 min from my truck. Most of the deer hunting around here is small wood lots.

I get in there while it's still dark and use my flashlight. Once in a while I spook a deer or two. But generally I'm settled in my stand 45min before it starts to lighten up. So that gives the woods some time to calm down.

My morning stands are all very easy to get to. So if I need a flashlight I'll use it. Like to get situated about 45 minutes before shooting time.

I think its important to be in your stand with bow in hand by first light so it doesn't bother me to walk in the dark with a flashlight.
When I'm ready to pack up and go home for the day its dark then so ether way coming or going I'm using a flashlight any way.

I walk in under the cover of darkness. I know my area really well so I only use a flashlight if I really have too. But I usually don't use one.

In20-30mins beforedaylight andout when dark. I use an L.E.D. head lamp. It has a red and awhite light, and amini-spotlight.I don't think it bothers them too much.
