RE: Rubber Boots
I have never done anything to mine other than hose them off when they are caked with mud. I have never had a problem with being winded either..Hehe..Knock on wood..

RE: Rubber Boots
I use scent wafer's (fresh earth) on the inside. Outside I use baking soda.I have used scent killer on them and seen no problems from using it on them.

RE: Rubber Boots
It seems I buy new ones every year cause of rips and tears from the previous year.

RE: Rubber Boots
I bought new boots 3 weeks ago and took two buckets and placed my boots in them and filled mud around the boots. They sat in the mud for 3 weeks and I just took them out last night. This method took the strong "new rubber boot" smell right off.
Hope this helps |
RE: Rubber Boots
Leaving them outside for a couple days works and then spraying them down with white lightning or baking soda. A cover scent works really well too, like stepping in deer or cow poo on the way to the stand.

RE: Rubber Boots
I wash the heck out of them outside and rinse throughly. Then I spray them down with some scent killer every few days. I air them out well out doors for a while, rain or shine, and then spray them some more and bag with some leaves, dirt etc, but leave the top open slightly to keep them from mildewing. Good deal to change the leaves and dirt a couple times....OR.. you can buy them far enough in advance that the stink will go away by season start.;) Spray with scent killer and go hunting. Depends on the boots. Cheap boots from Wong Wangs garage in Taiwan just seem to stink forever. Better quality like those from Lacrosse(like the Alpha Burly) don't stink as bad.
