RE: Prerut calling?
I have had some success here in Alabama using some light grunts and bleets in the early season. Like everyone else says, you will never know unless you try it.

RE: Prerut calling?
I hunt in Pennsylvania. I would say it definitely depends on where you live and how soonfrom opening day the deer come into rut. Here it's usually around mid Nov. I've tried some pre rut calling but never really had any success. I've had deer come in after calling, but they could have already been heading to that area anyways. Ihave no strong evidence that it works.
