In Bucks County there was a great deal of activity the last two weeks of Oct.in to the first week of Nov., but it seems to have slowed down. Maybe the weather or the bucks are just chasing at night. I don't know.

While spotting this past saturday night we saw over 50 deer probably about 10 bucks about 5 legal under new Antler Restrictions. One large buck was chasing does all around the field we had a night vision camcorder we used to tape it. Parked the truck and holed up in bushes and taped him for a good 15-20 minutes chasing does around the field. We bleated a few times and he started right for us came into about 35 yards. We decided it was better to back off calling and let him go about his business. He sniffed something in a nearby thicket and ran into it. Out of the other side pops a large doe he followed her around for few more minutes. And they went into the woods 100 yards away. Rut is on in Berks County.

I hunt in Bucks County and agree with BearMt's assessment. The deer were running does hard the end of October and early November. The warm weather seems to have put a halt to daytime activity. I've seen large bucks running off smaller bucks and have heard a good battle go on through the woods while hunting - I didn't see it though. None of the other hunters on the property rattled on that particular day. And, worst of all, I missed a big eight-pointer the first Saturday of November. He had his nose to the ground and was walking very stiff-legged.
Best of luck to you. Hopefully the deer "reappear" when the guns start going off.

I was not seeing much rut action yet in northeast Pa. from Oct 30 to Nov 9. Now on Nov 11 and 12 I have seen that the bucks are chasing the does really hard. Too bad my vacation is over!!!!!!
