Default Do you shoot with 1 eye open, or both open?

Ive been shooting with 1 eye closed for many years, but i learned from someone who was a competive shooter for many years, as well as a hunter, that shooting with both open may be better, it took a while to get used to, but now its all i do... i think i group better now for some reason...

Basiclly i was wonder what the majority of you guysdo.

Any good shooting coach worth their weight will convince you to shoot with both eyes open, at least partially open.

I personally have to squint my left eye closed until I acquire my sight picture, then open it up. Otherwise, the left eye takes over and I shoot about 2' off. Been shooting this way for years, and just cant get used to shooting left handed.

whats the reasoning behind both eyes open?
I don't mean this to sound like a smart allik...but we walk around w/ both eyes open, and our natural, normal demeanor is both eyes open. It's just more comfortable and natural. One less thing to think about, and it causes muscle stress and mental fatigue. It's about relaxing.

With my 3d bow, I only shoot with one eye open. With the 3x lens, I dont need to have both eyes open to get a good field of view. Something I've been thinking about adding to my hunting sight.

I am the same as joshKeller my left eye is dominent but I am training the right to take over if I draw my bow with both eyes open and try to sight the left still takes over but if I aim with the left closed or squinted the right take it. Once my right has take the job I can open the left. Alot of shooters will tell with good reason that both eyes open is the best way to shoot, for many reasons a couple being it's mentally straining to close one eye it may not feel like it is but it is. also your field of view increases greatly.
