Day 4, and meat in the freezer!

I was super excited about this evening's hunt. High pressure had moved in behind a cold front, and the wind was perfect for my favorite stand. It's on an inside corner of a cut bean field, and has several mature white oaks dropping acorns. Couple that with the persimmon trees, and 3 different trails leading into this corner, and you've got a recipe for success.I climbed my tree around 4:30, and after a small, weelittle nap settled in for a great evening. It had been slow, but prime time is just around the corner. It's now 7:00, and I am on my feet at full alert. Suddenly, to my left, out steps a doe at 25 yards. No, wait, make that 4 does! I am 25 feet in my tree, and the deer are slightly uphill from me. I estimate myself at maybe 15 feet above them, and they have not a clue I am anywhere in the neighborhood. The Enigma Camo worked to PERFECTION! I was able to grab my bow from the hook and draw w/out ever being detected. I settled my pin on the shoulder, and let fly. WHACK! And a perfect hit. She ran 50 yards and crumpled to the forest floor. What an exciting evening it was!It went somewhat bad after that, though. My van had a flat tire, I ripped my new Enigma pants changing it, and lost my cell phone!! I'm not so sure if it was a good night, or a bad one......
