I know Thermacells work...BUT
Has anyone killed a deer while using one? They seem to make a detour around me when mine is on. They don't act spooky and blow but they just seem to go out of the way around the normal travel path.

I shot a couple year old doe last fall from the ground at 15 yards down wind with my Thermacell running!!

Some deer don't seem to mind from what I've read, but I've seen deer spook from it. Trick is if they smelt it they have most likely smelt something coming off of me at the same time (unless my gear & all was 100% free= impossible)

i used it this weekend down in southern md very there is a alot buds and wasnt really impressed. first of all it relly didnt keep the bugs off of you.when on the ground were there was the most buds i still had to were gloves and a hooded coat and bug spray on my hands and face. then had a couple of deer come in front of me and they seemed uneasy and left pretty quik!!! then i looked down and the thermo cell was blowing right to those deer!! they mite have smelled me as well but didnt really impress me !!!!!!!

I used mine this weekend and i shot and missed a doe at 20yds, but she came right in. I just need to concentrate more whole taking the shot.

Just wonderin but why didnt you shoot the sikas? i was gonna do some huntin down there thsi year for them but i dont have the time this year so maybe next year, But i would really like to kill a sika, so thats why i was just askin cuz i would have shot one of them befor the whitetail
