Friday evening I got in the stand around 4:00 pm, in an area I never hunted before. There were lots of sign and acorns dropping. I set up on this little side ridge just above a creek. I started some lite rattling and grunting, watching for movement. About the third sequence I heard what I thought was a deer snort, about that time I saw some movement about thirty yards in front of me and here popped out this eight point out of the brush. He come sneaking right up to me. At 15 yards he turned a little broadside looking down the creek, I settled my 20 yd pin behind his shoulder and let it fly. He jumped, ran across the creek, ran up the other hill side, stopped and then layed down! WOW that was fast I thought. Then about a minute or two later he got up and walked off. Well I set there in the tree for about 45 minutes got down gathered my gear, left for the night. I did'nt want to chance it. came back Saturday morn and found him 50 yards from where he layed down the first time. Biggest buck with a bow, with a 16 inch out side spread. And He tastes excellent! ate some steak last nite. Gotta to love it!

You did the right thing by waiting until the next morning to go after him. Given the fact that he got up and walked after a minute or two, the hit may have needed more time and you didn't push him. Congrats!
