I've shot over 80 deer with a bow. I'm going to say only a handful haven't been pass throughs. That might be an exaggeration as I can really only think of 2 that weren't and they hit shoulder and spine. Done it with recurves, compounds, cut to the tip, chisel point...no mechanicals.

I have left an arrow in 5, three last year(recoverd all of them). I have shot 46 whitetails. I keep a journal of every hunt and what happens.

I don't know after all these years. I've lost a bunch of arrows but I've recovered a bunch only to reuse them again.

I have only taken three deer but have never had one pass all the way through. All have made an exit hole even the one I shot through the shoulder blade.
