Video Camera tree mount
Does anyone here have a link to a place that sells these? I want to film my own hunts, but I don't want to attach my video camera to my bow or gun. I have seen those models that do so and they are very expensive. Also I do not want to ruin my camera. So if anyone knows of a good tree bracket for video cameras so I can film my hunt up in my tree stand, please let me know. Thanks in advance,

RE: Video Camera tree mount
Check out Pine Ridge Archery they make one $39.
Lone Wolf Tree stands $99 Gorillia Tree stands makes a nice one also about $29 Good luck |
RE: Video Camera tree mount
Piebald, those cameras that mount on your bow or gun will "jump" when you fire or release depending on what your hunting withand you'll miss the hit. Using a tree mount cam you sort of need to know the general area that the deer will be in when you take your shot. Hope this helps.
Just curious, how did you come up with your user name? I killed one two years ago, they are a unique trophy.:) |
RE: Video Camera tree mount
I have the Gorrilla one, and it's sweet... Works Great...

RE: Video Camera tree mount
I have used the Gorilla and the Pine Ridge Archery one. I prefer the Pine Ridge Archery Pro-Bow-Cam. Here is a link:
http://www.shopatron.com/product/product_id=DUB2547/101.1 Cabelas has it a little cheaper: http://cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/links/link.jsp?id=0021126416015a&type=product&cm Cat=search&returnPage=search-results1.jsp&QueryText=pine+ridge+camera&N =4887&Ntk=Products&Ntx=mode+matchall&N ty=1&Ntt=pine+ridge+camera&noImage=0 |
RE: Video Camera tree mount
thanks for the help guys. early in, I made my username PieBaldDoe because I love that color phase....Never seen one in the wild yet, but we do have a melanistic buck running around.

RE: Video Camera tree mount
Piebalddoe, what kind of camera are you going to be using?
That info would help before I suggest any tree arms to you.:D |
RE: Video Camera tree mount
Piebald, that's awesome. Is that buck totally black? I've only seen pictures of them, I think the are much more rare than a piebald. The one I shot two years ago, I got on my trail cam a few timesfirst which was cool. So I have before and after pics! It was a small doethat was mostly all white with some matching brown areas on both sides. There is another one about a half mile away which I also got on my cam.
Where are you from Piebald?:) |
RE: Video Camera tree mount
I have the gorilla and it was cheap and works just fine.
Bought the one in Cabelas that mounts to your bow via the stabilzer hole. Long stroy short it wrecked my sony camera after 2 shots thru a Q2 mathews, not kidding either. The gorilla is really easy to strap on to the tree also. I video taped my hunt this past week and it turned out nice. |
RE: Video Camera tree mount
Pine Ridge Archery has a real good one. call 877-746-7434 ask for Brain Bychowski he can set you up for around $ 45.00. I got three of them for our team last month and they work great.
Good Hunting. |

RE: Video Camera tree mount
I have a picture for you, post a note under team 20 in the deer contest so I will be able to find you when I have the picture. It is a Piebald Doe, mostly all white.

AR 34, that's a great pic. It looks like a true Albino or are those eyes black?

RE: Video Camera tree mount
Hey you can sit in my stand and use mine any day you want! :D

RE: Video Camera tree mount
I do not know about the particular stores elsewhere in the US, but in the South, South Arkansas mainly, walmart handles the gorilla brand in their stores for about 30.00. And the leftovers go on close out right before the end of the season, for about 20.00.

RE: Video Camera tree mount
I think it really depends on the type and size of camera. If your using a small consumer camera, then a little inexpensive arm may work just fine. But when you have thousands of dollars wrapped up in a camera, spend the same on a good, and heavy tree arm.Professional tree arms often run hundreds of dollars, with the best setups, being into the thousands. When choosing a tree arm, make sure you choose the right one, that fits your camera.

RE: Video Camera tree mount
I agree if you have very much money invested in a camera go ahead and buy a quality camera arm. I know they are high but in the long run you will be glad that you did. I use the HunterCam Cradle products. I have both the HD and the Pro models and love them.

Big Country, my camera is a Panasonic MiniDV Palmcorder.
early in, I am from Beaver County PA. A few of the people on our hunting party have seen the melanistic buck before. He is totally jet black with no white spots anywhere, my dad was going to shoot him last year during rifle, but the buck was running away fast and didn't present a shot. Our hunting buddy missed this buck two times, and the deer was laying down. He shot the first time, and the buck was confused, so he shot a second time and the deer got up and ran. Just imagine how sick the poor guy was after that. :) lol |
RE: Video Camera tree mount
I'll be videotaping some hunts for the first time this year with a Canon GL2. We'll be using both the Pine Ridge arm as well as the Lone Wolf arm. I'll make sure we give some honest feedback for those of you who are interested.
Pine Ridge Arm - http://www.shopatron.com/product/product_id=DUB2547/101.1.5331.0.0.0.0 Lone Wolf Arm - http://www.lonewolfstands.com/camera_arm.asp I've looked at the HunterCam Cradle arms and they look like a top notch product, and I have heard nothing but good things about them as well. If the above mentioned arms don't work out for us we're definitely going to pick one up. |
RE: Video Camera tree mount
I have the gorilla mount and have no complaints. It will do all that I need it to do. I'm sure you can spend more money and get more adjustment, but for just starting off with filming I would go with the gorilla!
