My hunters, heart, wants to say congratulations..My up-bringing tells my mind not to say anything..Yet I can't stop coming back to this thread.

im speechless, happy, yet sad, but anyway if its leagal and it was your first hunt for elk more power to you congrats. you look very happy and im sure you will cherrish that moment for the rest of your life.

Although I myself would not shoot a calf I do not believe it is a wrong move if you have the tag the DNR must have alloted the tag.

The hoochie mama is a great call. Once again congrats on a successful hunt.

i got within 20 yards of 4 fawns last year but i didnt shoot them, i knew i would get another chance at deer. if he didnt, whatever, nice elk.

Don't get me wrong Im happy that this guy is happy. Must have been fun.It's just not "hunting" to me to shoot an animal that young. Just my opinion. And it's just makes me a little sad to know that calf lived just a couple of months of life, and it must have been a scared and bad way to go for a "baby".
