No Treestand For Me

I've only hunted out of my pop up blinds, sitting against trees, or still hunting. I've been saving for a good climber and was about to buy it this weekend.
While eating dinner I told the wife and kids I was going to pick it up. Well, they asked me not to get it. They were afraid I would fall out of it and since I would be hunting alone while using it they said they would be nervous every time I went out.

I am now the proud owner of;

a new digital camera.

I've been wanting a real good one for quite some time. The wife said she'd add another $50 so I could go get it if i didn't buy the stand.

Overall i'm fine with it. I really wanted the camera too, plus i'd hate for them to be worried every time i left the house to hunt

Honestly Cougars....

You're not sounding very smart by continuing to tell people about this over and over. I'd let it rest. It's kinda like saying....."Here's MY sign".....ya know?

Jeff

I'm glad you're OK.

Yeah guys. I know they can be safe when operated properly and when wearing a harness.
I could have pushed it and got the treestand if i wanted. The thing is no one else in my family has ever hunted nor havewe known anyone that hunted.
My daughter and i started 2 seasons ago and I really felt that I needed to be understanding of their fears and give in on this one for now.

Treestand in a few seasons then the Harley

My wife says she gets nervous with me using my climber, and she wants me to get a ground blind. I tell her, I'd be happy to get that ground blind, but don't think that I'm going to give up using the climber. I always use my harness, and always have a cell phone on my person. I haven't had an accident YET, but I believe that climbing is pretty safe as long as you take precautions and are careful.

Nice you listen to your family, but I think driving a car is more threating then climbing a tree. If you use saftey belt you will be fine. I would talk to your family show them how a good climber works. How a harness system like seat-of-the-pants works with the climber.

I havea ton of respect for you for listing, something most men would not do!!

You can kill just as many deer from the ground as you can from a tree. I'm glad you listened to your family and went ahead and got a digital camera instead.

What camera did you end up going with?
