Even the cheaper ones are going to be safe and do the trick when tied down the tree correctly. But I do agree with what Yooper Mike said about the Big Game stands. I just got the partner model (buddy-style stand) and it took three guys to get it attached to the tree safely. Loggy Bayou has a one man model labeled specifically for bowhunters with a bigger platform and lower support arms up top to make side shots easier. That one looks pretty nice as well.

i have two 16' deluxe ladder stands from rivers edge i bought at the local fleet farm and i also use a remington 18' stand. The 16' are $80 and the remington was $200.
