i am thinking of buying a jig can anyone recomend one and some glue to use

I like the Arizona E-Z Fletch, personally. Its very easy to use, as the name implies, and you can fletch a dozen arrows in less than 20 minutes.

As far as glue goes, I've been using Bohning Fletch Tite Platinum. It doesn't stick well to the bare shaft, but apply it with a wrap, and it adheres amazingly well. If you're gluing to the bare shaft, try Goat Tuff. If you deicde to use Goat Tuff, save yourself about $5 and just buy super glue, they're the exact same thing.

I use the Bitzenberger for precise arrow fletching. I use a straight clamp and fletch with a right offset for optimize arrow spin for stabilization.



I've had no problem with Bohning Fletch Tite Platinum on my Blazers and ACC's. I prepared the arrow with a light grit sandpaper and then wiped with alcohol. Not one Blazer came off through normal wear and tear and only a few because I shot through a Morrell bag target and had to force the arrows back through, even then they wanted to stay on.

I have a jo jan 6 arrow jig at home, and 2 jo jans 6 arrows at the shop as well as 12 bitz's at the shop. The jo jan will get the job done and is what I use for my personal arrows 99% of the time. The bitz is a bit easier to use precisely than the jo jan though. The jo jan is WAY cheaper than the bitz's though too........

Rick, I like the Jo Jan as well, especially when wanting to make several arrows at once. It certainly is faster and simple. Bitz is more precise as you said. I don't have a Jo Jan but don't make that many arrows at a time. I like doing one fletch at a time over time. In a shop atmosphere or many arrows waiting on me, definately the Jo Jan.

Without argument, the Bitzenburger is the best there is. BUT, for half the money, you can do an equally good a job w/ a Grayling. As far as glue goes.....Nothing beat Bohning Quantum XT....but ya gotta hurry a bit....it's pretty fast, and oh....watch your fingers. Not that I would know....[8D]

Another vote for Bitz.

I like the Carolina EZ fletch, since you can take it with you if you are away for a stretch.

Rob can you post of picture of your bitzenburger setup for right offset? What im looking for is where you have the dials set. Thanks

Bitz all the way... I used to use it all the tikme whn I was shooting aluminums but then when I switched to carbons I just did not fool with it any more. But it was awsome when I was using it. I use the shrink Quick Spins now.
