Hey all, i took my girlfriend up north to camp at our cabin. Well I keep food in the feeder (dont cut my b@lls off, i know its illegal in PA right now) but it is also illegal to hunt on posted property (which ours is) and it is illegal to hunt within so many yards of a full feeder. And I dont want anyone hunting the area untill we get a decent number of deer up there. Well anyhoo, we were sitting at the camp fire (NO LIE) 20yds from the feederand my trail camera by the feeder went off and kept going off for a couple of hours and this is what we saw.... they hung around the whole time and we were talking and carrying on and it didnt seem to bother them...i was so pumped. They eventually got chased off by 5 racoons. They came back in the morning and kept eating.

I'm not planning on hunting the area for a couple of years because the deer population is really hurting up there....im just happy to see some deer, racks or not...

At least one button there and I'd bet like him, the other is too...thus future booners.

And it's not illegal to have corn out there right now, it's just illegal to hunt a certain distance near it.

What kind of feeder do you have rigged up there? I never seen anything like that.

Guys, that's just a cable spool from a utility company with wire mesh around it to hold corn. You'll see them all over this part of the country.[&:]

Finally...someone else that knows the type of feeder. The elk and deer in that area will chew an ear of corn untill they can pull the ear through the wire. Certain area of the wire have 4"x4" squares cut in them too, but its a matter of them being able to spin the spool with 150lbs of corn in it. Those little guys were eating the lose stuff off the ground.

Up there, some of the bigger, more aggressive bulls will attack the feeders out of frustration. You see alot of the ripped down.

And I'm hoping to be able to get that population up, I should just fill every feeder on the hillside up with corn so no one can hunt the hillside haha...but that would cost alot of $$$$:eek:and make it easier for the more un ethical hunters.

In Va. we cant even feed between sept. 1st and jan. 6. And cannot hunt where food has been for 30days prior. Sux.
