A hang on out of a climber?

Ok im lookin to save some money on hanging a new stand. So i go to thinking i have a Summit climber that i rarely use, its just easier to go and sit in a stand instead of climbing a tree each time. So i got to thinking if i used the platform of my climber and just fixed up some kind of seat, then i would only have to buy pegs to get up the tree. that and a ratchet to secure the platform. If any of you have also done this, some insight on easy seats or any other helpful hints would be appreciated.

no i have understand what you mean, but i am thinking of buying a switchback before season begins($700), and after buying that i will have a pretty big whole in my pocket, and the other money i will need for insurance and other expenses i.e. gas for my car. although it is comming down

I dont really see a saftey issue if the stands sound but I think I'd use the seat section too myself. I'v a couple strap on seats I use at ground level & they seem ok but I wouldn't use one 20' up.

You can leave the whole cimbinstand up there and use a tv tower and strap it to the tree.. then when seasons over just take down the tower (so it dosent get stolen) and leave the stand... no more hasslin of climbin or taking anything down..

This is the second seasonI am using the seat portion of a summit climber in conjunction with a home brew (over build & huge)lock-on base.
I took the cheesy seat off the home brew and hung the climber top above it. The owner of the lock-on deck couldn't believe how comfortable the climber seat was compared to the small seats he usually uses.

Possibly, I left mine out for at least 5 months last year (Sept->Jan) and it didn't show any where or rodent abuse.
If you are worried about itI wouldn't do it.
I ended up with an extra top, so it wasn't a big deal for me to leave it out.
