Well I went back there and what do U know he was still walking around found more fresh blood kicked him up 2 times then we got up to him and he was still alive but he just turn his head and looked at us and just didn't have any thing else left in him..So I finished him with another arrow..I am disapointed it allways lokk like they are bigger then they really are..he is an 8 pointer with A 14 inch spread..I feel bad though because he had alot of potental..Next time I am going to have to calm down more and really get A better look..But it will be some good eating..

be proud, many would have given up and the deer would have died. You did what you had to do. An 8 with a 14' spread is a real nice buck where I come from and he might go on the wall if i'd have shot him. Congrats.

Sounds like your beginning to practice deer management for the size of your bucks. My biggest and only buck with a bow is only a 6pt, so I probably would have taken this 8 as well. One point a lot of people make, who are wanting to increase their buck's antler sizes, is not to shoot anything where the antlers are not outside the ears. You hear that a lot on the hunting shows when they are on a ranch. Way to hang in there though.

You should be happy with your 8 pointer there are alot of people out that never have the chance or miss there chance at a buck like that.. Good job with your tracking and staying with it....
