When I use the 'Can' I start with 2 full flips(bleats), then a couple of half bleats, then another full bleat. This is exactly what I heard a hot doe doing a last year. That was the squence she used so I just mimicked it and the bucks really respond. Don't be afraid to use it every 10 minutes or so. I found that if the bucks are over 100 yards out they won't hear it. But if they are in ear shot during the pre rut or rut, they will come in on a string. One other thing I do when using the 'Can' is put out some doe esterus scent on a trail I want them to follow. I soak a little cotton tab for hanging in a tree and drag it behind me with an old fishing pole so I can drag it off to one side and not have to walk down the trail. Then I set up and wait. About a hour before sunset seems to be the magic time around here so that's when I start calling. Call, wait 10 minutes and call again. It does work. I just need to stop smoking while I'm hunting. Quaker boy has made that call for years.I've been useing one for over 10 years and have called severial bucks in with it.They do work.

The other morning while on stand I heard a noise that sounded like wood being scraped against wood. I looked behind me and there about 50 yards was a 10 point rubbing his rack against a 4" diameter tree. He angled toward my stand but about 50 yards away went behind a deadfall. I then remembered the doe bleat can. I sat down and called once not really expecting anything. I looked toward the deadfall and here he came slowly walking in my direction. Since my API was so noisy and squeaky I was caught flat footed (or flat butted in this case) He walked within 15 yards of my stand but off to my right. I didn't want to take the chance of him seeing me so I stayed put. He looked like he was headed down a trail I was watching. I was going to let him come into my primary shooting lane. Unfortunately he turned and went away from me. About 10 minutes later a nice 6 point followed in his footsteps. I was pretty fed up with my stand so I stepped down on the steps to see if I could fix the squeaking. I made all kinds of noise trying to fix this stinking stand. About 3 minutes after I sat back down I saw a deer coming down the trail that I was watching. It was a 4 point buck (3 on one side and 1 on the other) and with a rack like that he needed to be culled out of the herd. Since I had never killed a buck with a bow I decided to take him. I want that 10 pointer and 6 pointer to breed the does. If I take him I will do so after the rut. The can worked but you could tell he was looking for another deer.

The harder I work, the luckier I get!

How does The Can work? Does it make grunts and doe bleats? What's the difference in the big can and the small can? (Besides the size!)

After reading for some time about the success many are having with the can, I bought one last week. So far, I haven't had any responses to it, but it does sound right and I expect it to eventually pay off.

coolbrz--the can just makes bleats. The larger can is a little louder than the small one, but I chose the small one which is a little bit cheaper.

Today's small bucks are tomorrow's trophies.

I agree it works! It's the only reason I scored yesterday. This buck wanted nothing I had to offer until I used the can. He came in on a string to 6 yards. My first year hunting with bow and I have a P&Y.

i used the can on sunday to take a 130 class 8pt,got to my stand let things quiten down hit the can twice within two minutes here he came.
i like mine...
