Default Is this buck babysitting?

My dad was telling me today that he saw something he has never witnessed before. First off, he's retired. So he makes his daily morning trip to the post office and then to the country store to drink his coffee and shoot the breeze.

Anyway, he was driving and saw a fawn (still had spots) following a buck (about an 8). So he pulled over and watched them go to the creek and drink some water and then go back in the woods. This all took place for about 15 minutes. There was no doe in sight.

Have you guys ever seen anything like this? Seems kinda weird but pretty cool to say the least.

Likely a button buck or simply the fawn was curious and lost momma doe...how unusual can that be?

Was this before or after he spiked his coffee?
