Default When it gets dark....

I noticed tonight that my high $ sights suck when it starts getting dark, even with the sight light on.I was on a platform shooting at a bedded 3D deer and couldn't even make it out looking thru the peep. Turning the light on only seems to make it worse. I guess its so bright that it glows and jacks me all up.

I have 19/1000th pins on now. I am thinking about putting on my 29/1000th and trying again tomorrow.

I just get discouraged so easily.

Sorry for the pouting.

Try a peep with a larger hole.

I wish they allowed us to use lights on our sights in Washington.

Nothing electronic can be attatched to any of our archery equipment.

I don't use lights for that reason, makes it worse. I see my pins long enough and after that I can't see in front of me anyways. One thing I do, is practise in the dark.It helps shoot instinctively. It helps. If you can't see it's to late, wasn't meant to be.

Geesh, no one reads signatures anymore.

Try a peep with a larger hole.
I feel that my current peep has a large enough hole. Tru-peep, not sure on hole diameter.

If you can't see it's to late, wasn't meant to be.
It didn't seem like it was all that dark when I was doing this.

ducky my boy.....yer right....if only I would have looked at the sig.....sorry...my bad. I don't know anything about those sights, so I'm not sure what to suggest. Your idea of larger pins will help though.

My cobra sidewinder gives plenty of glow on the green pin till just about 1/2 hr after sundown, with the tru glo pendulum I quit about 10min. early. Seeing the pin is one thing but seeing the target is another. In an open field it's no problem in the dark woods you're done early. No point in taking an unethical shot! The lights built into some sights just make it harder to see the target IMHO.

Are you saying you can't see the pins or you couldn't see the target through the pins...While hunting, I've still been able to see my pins when it was too dark to shoot the animal....those were nothing special sights...well, Hoyts MicroElite's but they had Truglo pins in them....

My new Viper Predator Pro MT is very, very bright, I'm almost complaining too bright in good light, the pins almost halo. I put a hood on and they are perfect...I almost want .010 pins, they are all .019's now. .029 are just too large for small targets.
