Default Gator Done!

Seeing this is the archery forum, I'll start by saying my buddy brought insufficient archery equipment on Tuesday's gator hunt. He rigged his wife's bow with the muzzy gator getter kit. Her bow only pulls at 35 pounds.

My bow is set up with a Fred Bear old school hand reel attached to a Muzzy Gator arrow, a regular old float that is taped to my bottom limb. Mine works and his did not. My PSE is set at 60 pounds.

Either way, you can't shoot the gator in the head. You will only piss him off and he will leave. But, even with slack archery eqiupment we backed it up with a rod and reel and a treble hook for a good old fashion snatch.

Two hours later, a couple of harpoons and lots of pulling, we got him. All 11 foot and 2 inches of him. http://putfile.com/pic.php?img=3257623

I hope I can get the picture to show up, if not try to link.

No Danny on our boat. I was with Wayne and Tyson. Tyson's tag, Wayne's boat and my secret spot.

Me and my buddies had our gator hunt last week, we took 8 total and the first one with a bow. It measured 7 feet even, it was shot with the muzzy gator getter kit and a mathews switchback. We shot ours directly behind the jaw line in the jow (neck area).

Here are the two biggest we got, both with snaghook

Now you have me thinking of doing this. How much does a gator hunt run? Can you buy OOS licenses or tags over the counter in Florida? And I'd need to go with an outfitter so I'll have to find one. But on a winter vacation that would bet sitting around at the pool.
